Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of their 2015 Piero Fornasetti Summer Catalog. The online catalog illustrates the extensive inventory of Fornasetti ceramics and objects from the 1950’s through the 1980’s available for purchase from Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge, a fourth generation antiques business known worldwide for its 17th to 19th century pottery, porcelain, textiles, and artwork. Paul Vandekar began expanding into 20th Century objects and design nearly ten years ago.
“It is gratifying to be part of the renewed interest in Piero Fornasetti’s work; he was an incredibly creative artist and designer. On one hand, we find some of the great traditions in ceramics in Fornasetti’s work such as trompe l’oeil and the neoclassical themes - it is a modern revival of those subjects. On the other hand, we love the whimsy and inventiveness of his work. Having just celebrated the 100th anniversary of his birth, there have been a number of important exhibitions and writings published about Fornasetti which have resulted in an increase in the desirability and collectability of his work.” One of those exhibitions is Piero Fornasetti : La Folie pratique - Les Arts Décoratifs at the Musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris, France.
Items for purchase include sets of plates from the Strumenti Musicali, Arcimboldesca, and Tema e Variazioni Series – to name but a few. In addition, metal serving trays, drinks coasters and a spectacular Ortensia Hydrangea Leaf Rug are among the dozens of items available.
