Calendar on AsiaWeekGuide.com

New York City.  With New York's Fall Asia Week kicking off on Sunday, September 9 and running through Friday, September 14, collectors and visitors will find the complete schedule of Asian art auctions, exhibitions and events on AsiaWeekGuide.com.

AsiaWeekGuide.com is the independent, inclusionary one-stop resource to the week's myriad events.  A daily calendar can be found on the Events page of AsiaWeekGuide.com. Articles on the art and design of Asia,  museum exhibitions and items of interest are on the homepage. Suggested activities include trips to the New York Chinese Scholars Garden on Staten Island and the Newark Museum, which recently reinstalled its China galleries.

According to Regina Kolbe, President of Antiques Weeks Media, LLC, AsiaWeekGuide.com's parent company, the website is designed to be "A comprehensive guide that encourages collectors and visitors in New York for Asia Week to stay longer and explore more, ultimately enriching their experience."

While fall's Asian art events have, in recent years, been superseded by Spring Asia Week, the internationalization of Asian art has led to a resurgence of interest. New York City is alive with events and regional museums and auction galleries schedule coinciding events.

Gianguan Auctions, now in its tenth year, holds the first sale of the week on Sunday, September 9.  Running concurrent with this is A.B. Levy of Palm Beach's Asian art auction, which can be viewed online.  These are followed by auctions at Bonham's, Christies, Doyle, and Sotheby's and others.

Exhibitions include several hosted by the Japanese Art Dealers Association members and affiliates, detailed on the Events page. Ronin Gallery, which recently moved into larger quarters, is holding dual exhibitions with a Gala opening later in the week.

Events at Asia Society, Museum of the Chinese in America, China Institute, Japan Society and other cultural institutions provide both educational and social opportunities.

AsiaWeekGuide.com also provides information on auctions, such as Heritage's September 25 sale that includes Asian decorative arts, as well as leisure time activities that extend the Asian experience throughout the year. As September's New York events taper off, viewers will find the dates and a slate of events for London's November Asian Art events, followed by those in Hong Kong.

Auctioneers and galleries wishing to be listed on AsiaWeekGuide.com, are requested to send press releases to regina@prtothetrade.com.
