Artist Tim Forbes Releases SPATIAL
Limited edition archival prints at The Artist Project Toronto, February 21
TORONTO – (Feb 19/13) – Artist Tim Forbes has selected The Artist Project in Toronto for the exclusive release of SPATIAL, a new series of limited edition archival photographic prints. The innovative portfolio captures iconic architectural structures, which Forbes repurposes to create visual essays – suspended forms and lines.
In dramatic form, Forbes captures well-recognized structures by the likes of architects Wright, Gehry, Hadid, Kuwabara, or post modernist Uno Prii and re-interprets them to produce optically convincing visuals that can only exist in hyperrealism.
“… photographed in perfect symmetry, Forbes elevates the urban world to a visionary space of contemplation.”
Forbes takes no prisoners in using his work to make bold statements. As a voyeur, he admits he can no longer simply walk down a New York street without seeing constant context for his focused depictions of elevated structures.
“In the creation of SPATIAL, my personal mandate was to create from what has happened in the eye and technical process beyond the shutter”, Forbes explained. “The unique series is assembled from full frame, without cropping or retouching – unlike other imagery that is built on layers, montage or retouched manipulation, the true visual harmonics expressed in SPATIAL are essential to the purity of image and the building of a new possibility”.
A prolific and respected multidisciplinary talent, Forbes has gained international acclaim for his creativity as a sculptor and conceptual photographer. His signature works can be found in private and corporate commissions as far away as Hong Kong.
Forbes’ work has been presented to collectors and art market professionals at premier venues such as the Toronto International Art Fair and The New York Architectural Digest Design Show and at numerous galleries. Visit Forbes portfolio at www.ForbesDG.com <http://www.forbesdg.com/>
