Lawrence Fine Art is pleased to announce that it will exhibit at this year's Art Southampton, running from July 9-13. Please note the new location: Nova's Ark, just off Scuttlehole Road, in East Hampton.
"This is our second appearance at Art Hamptons. We couldn't be more pleased to be showing among such a fine roster of galleries and presenting to such a discerning and sophisticated audience," said Gallery Director Howard Shapiro.
The gallery will show for the first time new work by acclaimed Ghanian artist El Anatsui. Anatsui is well-known for large scale sculpture composed of thousands of folded and crumpled pieces of metal sourced from local alcohol recycling stations and bound together with copper wire. He was the recipient of a recent retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum and was recently awarded the Golden Lion for lifetime achievement at the Venice Biennale.
In addition, the gallery will highlight work by New York School artist Aristodimos Kaldis, which was exhibited at the Whitney and MOMA, work by Anna Walinska, which was exhibited as part of her career retrospective at the Jewish Museum in 1957, and new work by acclaimed American artist Knox Martin.
The gallery will also highlight work by a number of contemporary artists whose work the gallery is showing this summer as part of its "Summer of Abstraction." These include Janet Mait, Deb Lawrence, David Einstein, Joe Novak, Suzanne Lafleur and Athos Zacharias.
Finally, the gallery will also offer work by acclaimed American sculptor Albert Paley and British-American sculptor Edwina Sandys.
"We always like to mix it up--contemporary and modern masters and up-and-coming newer artists," said Shapiro.
