Fusion Art would like to congratulate long-time Fusion Art Best in Show Artist, Diane Liguori, for being a finalist in the 7th International BRUSH OFF Painting Competition & Fundraiser benefiting people living with Alzheimer’s.
The International BRUSH OFF is a juried painting competition that highlights contemporary artists while raising awareness and funds for art-based programs that enrich the lives of people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia related illnesses.
After participating in Fusion Art’s 4th Annual Group Show in February 2020, Diane was approached and invited to enter the competition by BRUSH OFF and Avenue Art Gallery founder Marina Cutler, who saw Diane’s Best in Show winning artwork, “Parade Princess” at the show in Palm Springs, California.
Diane was selected as a finalist in the BRUSH OFF exhibition for two of her paintings, “Parade Princess” and “September Moon.” The exhibition is scheduled to open virtually with a live stream awards ceremony on November 21, 2020, in conjunction with two POP UP physical locations in both Memphis, Tennessee and Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, Canada. The show will be exhibited online through the end of the year.
Founded by Marina Cutler and a team of volunteers who worked in partnership with The Alzheimer's Society of Canada, BRUSH OFF was started as a way to raise awareness and speak on behalf of those living with Alzheimer’s and who could not share their voices. It was also a way to raise funds to help create an art-based project that would help people and their caregivers benefit from art while living with Alzheimer's.
The 2020 exhibition is the first time the event will be held virtually as well as in two physical locations in two countries.
