It's day 2 at the New York Art, Antiques, and Jewelry Show (NYAAJ) at Pier 94, and CONTEMPORARY SPOTLIGHT section exhibitors continue to report healthy business despite the Veterans Day parade and one protest after another following the election that turned the city's traffic into a gridlock, proving the solidity of the New York market.

Highlights from the transactions that took place on the floor today include:

Art Link International (Lake Worth, FL) who presented a mix of Modern masters and contemporary urban art placed an important Maurice Utrillo with a new client for an undisclosed sum in the six-figure range;

a recent Michael Wommack piece sold by Colm Rowan Fine Art (Philadelphia, PA);

three whimsical painted bronze sculptures by Daniele Matalon who gave an Artist Talk to New York collectors on the first day of the fair, sold by Bruce Lurie Gallery (Los Angeles, CA) for $58,000;

several large-scale sculptures by a renown glass artist Abby Model, represented by Clark Priftis Art (New York, NY).

CONTEMPORARY SPOTLIGHT is a special "show-in-show" section at the NYAAJ dedicated to exhibitors presenting modern and contemporary art, objects, and design.

"Having many of the presented artists with us here in person at the fair brings such authenticity to the visitors' art-viewing experience," adds the fair's director Barbara Goodwin. "We are delighted to feature contemporary art in an appropriate manner via CONTEMPORARY SPOTLIGHT, especially within the context of a cross-collecting fair covering such incredible breadth of artistic genres and time periods as this."

The fair anticipates to welcome new visitors and as well as clients returning to finalize acquisitions tomorrow -- its last day -- November 13th, between 11am and 6pm.

Location: Pier 94 (711 12th Ave, New York City)

Complimentary shuttle service between Pier 94 and Upper East Side with a stop located on the corner of Park Avenue and 67th street.
