"The Eavesdropper" by Loretta Kaufman

Loretta Kaufman’s hand built earthenware sculpture “The Eavesdropper” has been selected to be part of the National Association of Women Artists’ (NAWA) exhibition, “Sculpture On & Off The Wall”, during the month of June 2019.  The national exhibition was open to both NAWA members and non-members nationwide, who were US citizens and/or permanent residents.  Women artists over the age of 18, working in any media, were eligible to participate.

The exhibition includes a remarkable range of 24 contemporary 2D and 3D artwork and sculpture, which is currently on exhibit in the Gallery of National Association of Women Artists’ headquarters in New York City. The gallery’s address is 315 West 39th St., Suite 508, New York, NY. The exhibition will be held from June 5 – June 26, 2019, with a reception on June 13th between 5 pm – 7 pm.  Normal gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.  NAWA can be reached at 212-675-1616 or www.thenawa.org.

This year, NAWA, the first established professional women’s art organization in the US, is celebrating its 130th Anniversary of supporting public awareness of visual art by American women.  While encouraging contemporary and emerging artists, the Association honors and continues the long important contribution of women to the history of American culture and art.

NAWA promotes education in the visual arts, including exhibitions of its members’ works, educational programs, scholarships, awards and its historical archive.  NAWA’s documented exhibitions are archived within the Smithsonian Institution Archives, the Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, and The Library of Congress.
