NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Wendy Yeager in Opening the Window. The exhibition opens March 26 and runs through April 16, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, March 28 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

In a series of abstract paintings, artist Wendy Yeager layers pieces of her life onto the canvas. She uses handmade paper, Intricate patterns, and bold patches of color to create texture in the frame, building up each piece into a completed whole.

In Passing Storm, myriad shades of blue and orange slowly fade into one another as the viewer loses themselves in swirls of color. In Purple Fusion, black lines crackle in the middle of the frame like lightening in a bottle. Painting from her subconscious, Yeager shows us the many layers beneath the surface.

Opening the Window is a group exhibition that explores that nuances between abstract and figurative works. Featuring eleven artists, the exhibition incorporates works in different media, showcasing landscapes, and well as works that alter the conventional framing of figurative objects. In this way, the exhibition includes purely abstract works that nevertheless demonstrate a fidelity to spatial perception and the communication of meaning.
