Celebrating 20 years in Zurich, Art International Zurich takes place at the historical Exhibition Hall Puls 5 at Giessereihalle in the heart of Zurich-West. The trendy district that once witnessed the industrial revolution offers a melting point for art, fashion and design, cross-over-culture, shopping and architecture. The most popular restaurants, bars and clubs are located in this area. Dealing with innovative concepts for integrating successful arts precincts, museums and institutions, as well as established collector-focussed program, the art fair promises that 2018 continues a successful story.
Long-established as the original incubator for emerging work, Zurich’s art event celebrates its nineteenth’s year of introducing young and established galleries to the contemporary art market, a remarkable opportunity for exposure Galerie Zum Harnisch. The Gallery’s Director and Swiss Chiefcurator Priska Medam is featuring emerging and mid-career artists: Oliver Fauser, Laurence Gartel and Dan Gerbo. The gallery is also delighted to showcase a digital video loop by Urs Gyger and the engaged artists group „Help for Africa“. The new works of this group can be purchased by the end of the year at the Galerie zum Harnisch.
Regarding the selection of artists’ positions, the gallery director Priska Medam explains that there is a brand new gallery concept: “The composition of digital Flowers series is exhibited in Zurich the first time to introduce the next great project, the participation at VIFAF. The VIFAF (Virtual International Fine Art Fair) will start in September 2018 with its first exhibition. It is a total challenge of my gallery concept, because my gallery will only be virtual. VIVAF’s first virtual location is hosted in Monaco, including virtual locations on the planets Moon and Mars. The full 360 surrounding view will give you a realistic feeling of being there. Working with virtual reality glasses at the physical locations, the artworks will be placed in full HD and 4k Full 360 view around. From my point of view, this is the future!”
Art International Zurich opens to VIPs and Press on Thursday, September 20, 6 – 10 pm and runs from September 21 to 23, 2018. The art show is important for collectors, curators and art lovers, providing an intimate look at some of the most important challenges at the future lab.
