56th Annual Community Art Exhibit

Lancaster, PA – The Lancaster Museum of Art is pleased to announce its 56th Annual Community Art Exhibition. This exhibition celebrates the vast amount of artistic talent found throughout Lancaster County. Any artist (age 16 and older) residing or working in Lancaster County was welcome to submit original artwork to this juried exhibition, which will be on view from July 7 through August 26, 2018.
Artwork of any medium including photography, painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, carved wood and mixed media will be on display. Each artwork entered was eligible for First, Second, and Third Place Awards, which are determined by this year’s guest juror, John Costanza. The People’s Choice Award will be chosen by the visitors to the exhibition and announced upon the conclusion of the exhibit.
This year’s juror, John Costanza was trained at the Art Students League in New York, as well as the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, and Cheyney University. He considers himself a painter, sculptor, and a ceramicist. His 3D work is often abstract and when describing his process Constanza says “Part of what I do is to explore, invent and experiment with simple shapes using the cube, cylinder, or rectangle.” Constanza has had over 30 solo exhibitions including at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Detroit Museum of Art, and the Columbus Museum of Art and has been featured in publications such as Studio Potter Magazine.
An Opening Reception, open to the public, will take place on Friday, July 6th from 5:00- 8:00 p.m.
