Huntington, NY – The Heckscher Museum of Art is accepting entries for the 2018 Long Island Biennial beginning February 1, 2018. Inaugurated in 2010, the Long Island Biennial is a juried competition offering local artists an opportunity to show their work to a broad public in a professional Museum setting. Long Island has a rich artistic history and has long been an inspiration for artists.
Professional visual artists over the age of 18 who live in Suffolk and Nassau Counties may submit entries for the Biennial from February 1 through April 30, 2018. Artists can apply online at LongIslandBiennial.org
This year’s distinguished jurors are Christine Berry, Berry Campbell Gallery, New York; Robert Carter, Professor of Art, Nassau Community College, State University of New York; and Bobbi Coller, Independent Art Historian and Curator.
The Long Island Biennial receives hundreds of entries from gifted, professional, contemporary Long Island artists. The jurors will select outstanding works for inclusion in a Biennial exhibition at The Heckscher Museum, August 4 to November 11, 2018. All submissions will be shown in an online gallery on LongIslandBiennial.org
“The Long Island Biennial is a perfect opportunity for artists to showcase their work to a wide audience, and for art lovers to discover the talent that is flourishing across Suffolk and Nassau Counties,” said Lisa Chalif, Curator, Heckscher Museum of Art.
