THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IT IN THE AMERICAS. Miami will be a literal art feast for international art collectors, art enthusiasts, art curators, art advisors, museums, art foundations, art critics, art market journalist and all the businesses which support art world activities.  We are pleased that artworks by Chilean artist DAPHNE ANASTASSIOU was selected for the Juried Show PREMIUM at CURATOR’S VOICE ART PROJECTS during the Art Basel Miami Beach 2019 Season.  

A trained and active psychologist, today Anastassiou works both as a painter and sculptor, a master of mixed media and converging techniques, Daphne employs acrylics, oil, and pastel pencils onto materials such as wood, fabrics, and paper; applied with palette knives, sponges, rags and even her hands to create abstract forms and elusive silhouettes, rendered with intense colors and impetuous brush strokes which seem to connect physical reality with the invisible inner world.  “I am directed by sensations. I allow myself to play with colors and forms and these inner worlds begin to emerge,“ she says. “My process is spontaneous where my principal guide is what I feel, what arises within me and orients me during the creative process. My personal curiosity has also opened paths for me to experiment with different procedures. The result is colors and forms and an inner world seem to emerge”, she said.  

Daphne’s work has been exhibited in New York, Madrid, London, Paris, Shanghai, Buenos Aires and Santiago Chile. Her paintings are part of private collections around the world.  Currently, Daphne is represented in Chile by Artespacio Gallery in Santiago, and internationally by the Gallery Colette Dubois in Paris, France.

The exhibition is taking place at 350 NE 75th Street, #105 Miami, Florida.  The juried show is designed to feature high quality mid-career artists with exceptional accomplishments. PREMIUM will present a special section for emergent artists and new voices to foster talented next generation of artists who will have the opportunity to have their workedassess with the curator of the exhibition. PREMIUM is a curated exhibition for paintings, sculptures, photography, drawing, digital media, installation art, performance art, video art and installation art.
