During the last decade, the Saint Louis Art Museum acquired more than 700 prints, drawings and photographs, yet only a small number of these have been on view. “A Decade of Collecting Prints, Drawings and Photographs” presents 62 of these works that date from the 15th century to the present, and comprise a variety of themes and genres, including landscape, abstraction and socially-engaged portraits.

Highlights of this exhibition include exceptional works that enhance existing strengths of the collection, such as German prints and social documentary photography. Notable among the artists’ works is Dorothea Lange’s Migrant Mother (1936), one of the most iconic images of Depression-era America.

“A Decade of Collecting Prints, Drawings and Photographs” is curated by Elizabeth Wyckoff, curator of prints, drawings, and photographs, and Eric Lutz, associate curator of prints, drawings, and photographs with Ann-Maree Walker and Leah Chizek, research assistants.
