Long Island Biennial Call for Entries

New Guidelines, New Opportunities
Applications Open May 1 to June 30, 2020

The Heckscher Museum of Art is now accepting entries for the 2020 Long Island Biennial, a juried exhibition featuring works by visual artists from Suffolk and Nassau Counties. The Biennial  offers Long Island's emerging and established artists the opportunity to gain broader public awareness of their work.

This 10-year anniversary of the Long Island Biennial coincides with The Heckscher Museum’s centennial. In honor of this milestone, this year’s Biennial exhibition will expand to all four of the Museum’s galleries. Updated guidelines will give all submitting artists more opportunities.  Each artist can submit up to three works of art for the jurors’ consideration.  In addition, the finished size of each artwork has increased.   Entries may be submitted in the following media: painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, and mixed media. Long Island Biennial applications and complete Guidelines are available at Heckscher.org. Applications for Long Island Biennial are open May 1 to June 30, 2020.

Long Island Biennial jurors are Erin Kimmel, Art Writer and Ph.D. candidate in Art History, Stony Brook University; Heidi Lange, Director of DC Moore Gallery, New York City; and Paton Miller, Artist/Curator.
