Waterhouse & Dodd are bringing Impressionist and Modern art to the Upper East Side. Established in London since 1987, and in New York since 2010, their new gallery on Madison Avenue at 75th street has an impressive exhibition of Impressionist & Modern paintings by highly sought-after artists including Renoir, Matisse, Vuillard and Avery. The work by Edouard Vuillard is an impressive large-scale painting depicting an intimate gathering in the interior of Jos and Lucie Hessel’s country estate Château de Clayes. Also in the show are two surrealist works by Salvador Dalí from the 1940s, when he collaborated with stars of the screen and the stage.
