Still Moving: The Orchestration of Vision and Time in Contemporary Filmmaking
Presented by film and media scholar Lutz Koepnick, this program addresses how contemporary art films and video art explore the issue of theatricality. Koepnick will feature excerpts from films and videos by, among others, Francis Alys, Werner Herzog, Tsai Ming- Liang, and Bela Tarr. He will also discuss these works’ orchestration of time in relationship to the photographs in the Museum’s exhibition An Orchestrated Vision: The Theater of Contemporary Photography (February 19–May 13, 2012).
