Artist and filmmaker Martha Colburn depicts a frenetic, whirlwind narrative of an epic topic—the history of American war from Bunker Hill to Baghdad—collapsed into a 10-minute animated film in the Museum's latest New Media Series installation, Triumph of the Wild (2008–9). Deploying hand-colored animation, collage, found imagery, and a novel use of jigsaw puzzles, Colburn offers a visually accessible film that is also brutally honest about the consequences of war. Museum hours: The Museum opens at 10:00 am Tuesday–Sunday. The Museum closes at 5:00 pm Tuesday–Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Friday, the Museum closes at 9:00 pm The Museum is closed on Monday.
