Alliance Conference 2012: Navigating the Mainstream: Learning from the Past, Looking to the Future

July 12–15, 2012 The Saint Louis Art Museum will host Navigating the Mainstream: Learning from the Past, Looking to the Future, a national conference in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Museum’s Romare Bearden Graduate Minority Museum Fellowship. The conference will serve as a forum to discuss both the successes and challenges of the constantly evolving African and African American arts field. Discussions will examine best practices for collecting, interpreting, presenting, and preserving cultural heritage in mainstream museums.
