Heavy Metal: Photographs by Jan Staller
Construction sites and industrial objects transform into compelling subjects through the lens of photographer Jan Staller. The Heckscher Museum of Art’s exhibition Heavy Metal: Photographs by Jan Staller features 16 monumental photographs and a three-channel video from almost two decades of the artist’s career. On view April 21 to July 29, 2018. Staller has photographed urban infrastructure, recycling centers and building materials, focusing on pattern, geometry, line, color, and light. Returning often to found locations, he continues to capture a constantly changing industrial landscape.
