Virtual Screening Event/Discussion of ARTBOUND's "The Watts Towers Arts Center"

Join LACMA and KCET for a virtual screening event and discussion following KCET’s Emmy ® award-winning arts and culture documentary series ARTBOUND episode “The Watts Towers Arts Center.” The online event will highlight the impact of the Watts Towers Arts Center and examines the lives, works and creative processes of arts and culture innovators in Southern California on Fri., Mar. 19 at 7 p.m. PT.

The Watts Towers Arts Center was founded by artists and educators in the 1960s and has been a beacon of art and culture in the community for decades making an impact in Southern California and beyond. The virtual event features an in-depth discussion on the ARTBOUND episode on the work of artists Noah Purifoy, John Outterbridge, Betye Saar, Charles White, Mark Steven Greenfield and more. The panel will be moderated by Juan Devis (Executive Producer, Chief Creative Officer of KCET and PBS SoCal) and will feature panelists Rosie Lee Hooks (Director of the Watts Tower Arts Center Campus), Charles Dickson (sculpture artist) and Mark Gilberg (Director of Watts Tower Conservation Project for LACMA).
