Museum mistakes exposed in London show

The National Gallery in London will be showing off some embarrassing acquistions and misleading gifts in its major exhibition called Close Examination opening in June.
Works once-removed from the gallery's walls for their dubious nature are being exhumed from the vaults.
One of the museum's mistake is a lovely Florentine allegorical scene, circa 1500, bought as a Botticelli in 1874. The 'not right' work, which was purchased along with 'Venus and Mars,' a real Botticelli, was quietly put away for 140 years.
The exhibition delves into the modern scientific techniques now used by researchers to spot fakes.
