A Christian group attacked a Moscow art exhibition on Friday toppling and smashing artworks on display.

Dmitry “Enteo” Tsorionov, a self-proclaimed missionary, led the activists into Sculptures We Don’t See at the Manezh, an exhibition space next to Red Square. His group, called God's Will, shouted that the artworks were offensive to people of faith.

Works on display included a naked Christ made by Vadim Sidur, known as the Soviet Henry Moore. The piece was trampled and other works damaged. Enteo was detained and then released by police.

Mikhail Fedotov, head of the presidential human rights council, said Enteo’s actions were similar to cultural attacks made by “barbarians from the Islamic State,” Russian news site Interfax reported.
