This fall Agora Gallery is pleased to present Solo Exhibition: Wendy Gillespie and group exhibition Idiosyncratic Expressions. Wendy Gillespie paints landscapes that manage to be both highly detailed and impressionistic in their light touch. The works incorporate a mature sense of color and a classical artist’s sensitivity to distance and atmosphere. Gillespie’s versatile skills allow her to depict a wide range of water and land scenes, including tranquil lakes, churning oceans, grassy plains, sun-bathed orchards, and stately mountains. With Gillespie’s finely tuned observational paintings on one hand, the gallery will also feature a group exhibition of exceptional transformative agility in Idiosyncratic Expressions. These cutting-edge interpreters offer surreal visions of people walking up walls, untethered shapes floating through space, and real-world landmarks filtered through bold colors and flattened perspectives. Figures, objects, and terrains are all reimagined. Through painting and sculpture, this group exhibition showcases some of the strongest and most precise artistic visions in the contemporary landscape.

Both exhibitions will open on October 14th, 2016 and run through November 3rd, 2016 with a joint opening reception on Thursday, October 20 from 6-8 PM. Admission is free.
