This September Agora Gallery will present three exhibitions that illustrate art’s ability to tell an ever-expanding range of stories in an almost limitless number of ways. In Interpretive Realms, nature in all its diversity is vividly captured and powerfully transformed through the views of five artists who, though they work in media ranging from photography to traditional Japanese art, all pursue the goal of building a strong personal statement from what they see in the world around them.

Masters of the Imagination presents the work of three women artists from Latin America, each of whom employs a strongly individual take on color, line and texture to provide a surprisingly varied look at a singular artistic heritage. Ardian Tragaj / a solo exhibition puts the challenging vision of the Albanian artist on display, with paintings that combine a lighthearted sense of whimsy with a disturbing undercurrent of darkness and conflict that reflect the political storms which have affected his homeland.

These three exhibits serve to remind us of the many seeming divides that art can bridge—realism vs. abstraction, personal vs. political or dark vs. light. Each of the artists whose work is being shown possesses an ability to harness the energy of those dualities, resulting in works that engage viewers on many levels. Agora Gallery is pleased to be able to present a survey that so successfully demonstrates the continuing emotional and visual power of art.

All three exhibitions will run from September 20, 2016 through October 11, 2016. The opening reception will take place on the evening of September 22nd from 6-8 pm. Entrance is free.
