"Painterly Abstraction: Spheres of AbEx" presents a broad survey of the idiosyncratic American art movement by bringing together works from some of the major artists of the genre in addition to remarkable art by other equally significant painters related to Abstract Expressionism. Exceptional examples will be on exhibit by Karel Appel, Mary Abbott, Norman Bluhm, Lynne Mapp Drexler, Louise Fishman, Sam Francis, Hans Hofmann, Paul Jenkins and Jack Roth among many others. With bold strokes and rich colors, all the works communicate an energetic movement and emotion unique to each artist.
